Good for a few hours. I recommend Gigantic Army over this, though.. Every bit as action-packed as ARMED SEVEN and SATAZIUS. Optimized right off the bat: I went from controller to mouse and keyboard seamlessly, as the controls are exceptionally intuitive. There's this Castlevania element to it, too, that I really liked.It's just a really solid game. Can't praise it enough.. Gigantic Army is a really fun twist on the Contra formula because you have a jetpack, a dash move, a melee attack, and a shield to block bullets. But for Steel Strider they took away the dash move and the shield, the very mechanics that made Gigantic Army so fun. The jetpack is all that's left to distinguish this from the Contra series (that and the doujin aesthetics). Major downgrade.. Plays like a great SNES game from the hey day of 2d gaming.. Worthy successor to Gigantic Army. Pretty much more of everything. Also really cool that you get to fight the mech from the first game. It did remind me that I miss its shield though :(. A very polished game,when playing its's easy to see that a great deal of care went into crafting every single asset of this game.
